Targeting Buyers
In parallel with the drafting of the Information Memorandum (IM) the Fusion team will work with you to identify and agree the key prospective buyers. This will also involve being clear on specific parties that you want excluded from the process, for example underfunded competitors who would be unable to fund an acquisition but would be interested in gathering information on a competitor. Fusion will then contact the prospective parties on a no names basis and send them a ‘Tickler', which provides a synopsis of the opportunity, including an indication of revenue and profitability as well as the strengths of the business and the market opportunity.
We will then follow-up with either the full IM or a slightly more detailed ‘Teaser' document after securing a signed NDA.
A couple of days after sending the IM to prospective buyers Fusion will follow up with additional calls and clarify points that the parties are likely to have such as why the business is for sale at this time.
